Aliada is known for its innovative technology that helps deliver drugs to the brain by crossing the blood-brain barrier (BBB). This technology is part of their MODEL platform, which was originally created by Johnson & Johnson. ALIA-1758 uses this technology to carry a specific antibody into the brain to target and break down amyloid beta plaques, which are linked to Alzheimer’s.<\/p>\n
The acquisition is expected to enhance AbbVie’s research capabilities, helping them create new treatments for brain-related disorders. ALIA-1758 is currently in early clinical trials to test its safety. The deal is expected to be completed by late 2024, pending regulatory approval.<\/p>\n
